5:15pm: Brotha D Storming Ahead
Tom Grigg raised to 45,000 before Danny Silk put in the three-bet to 130,000 from the button. Action was then with Brotha D who put in a four-bet to 370,000.
Grigg and Silk quickly folded as Brotha D raked in the pot.
“You Aussie boys eh? Cut it out!” chirped Brotha D as Tamas Lendvai commented that he thought Brotha D held pocket kings.
“I had the kahunas!” responded Brotha D.
Brotha D’s run didn’t end there. He collected another three-bet pot against Lendvai before again re-raising preflop against Tom Grigg.
Grigg folded and Brotha D flashed 10♥ 10♣ .
“Sorry Tom, happens everytime!” said Brotha D who moved up close to two million in chips and has a stranglehold on this tournament.
5:00pm: Another double for Tamas
Tamas Lendvai moved all in from the button for his last 246,000 and Danny Silk made the call in the big blind holding 7♦ 7â™ , however he found himself in bad shape against Lendvai’s Q♣ Q♥ .
The board ran out 10♥ 4♠3♦ K♥ 5♣ and Lendvai doubles to 500,000 with Silk back down to 685,000.
4:44pm: Lucky nines for Lendvai
Action folded to Tamas Lendvai who moved all in from the button. Tom Grigg moved all in over the top from the small blind as Danny Silk stepped aside in the big blind.

Grigg: K♥ Q♦
“Hold!” yelled Lendvai but he didn’t like the 2♥ K♣ A♣ flop as Grigg spiked a pair to take the lead. The turn was the 6♦ but the river boomed the two-outer 9♦ to give Lendvai a remarkable double up. Yesterday it was Brotha D who spiked the two-outer on the river against Grigg, but this time is Lendvai who stays alive to double to 390,000. Grigg has about 400,000.
4:39pm: Brotha D clips Lendvai
Tamas Lendvai raised under the gun to 48,000 with Brotha D and Srdjan Mitrovic making the call to see a flop of 4♥ 5♦ A♣ .
Action checked to Tamas Lendvai fired 80,000 into the pot, leaving himself 170,000 behind. Brotha D made the call as Mitrovic folded.
The 4♦ turn was checked before the 9♣ hit the river. Brotha D fired a bet of 120,000 and Lendvai angrily tossed Q♠Q♣ into the air and into the muck.
Brotha D claimed that he held ace-ten as he flashed his cards to his railbirds. He’s up to 1.52 million.
Srdjan Mitrovic turning satellite win into big bucks
Srdjan Mitrovic wasn’t going to even play this event. He qualified on the last available satellite on PokerStars and is now putting his efforts to good use with a deep run in the Main Event that’s already guaranteed him NZ$40,900. 4:20pm: Level up, blinds 10000-20000, ante 2000)
4:19pm: Ropati Toleafoa eliminated in 6th place
Srdjan Mitrovic opened with a raise from the cutoff to 40,000 and Ropati Toleafoa made the call in the big blind. They took a flop of 4♦ 5♣ 10♥ and Toleafoa came out with a bet of 40,000. Mitrovic put in a raise to 90,000 and Toleafoa made the call.
The turn was a repeat 10♦ and Toleafoa moved all in for 250,000 to send Mitrovic into the tank. He eventually made the call and Toleafoa wasn’t pleased. He opened K♦ 9♦ for a bare flush draw as Mitrovic had made a good call with his Jâ™ J♥ .
Toleafoa would need a diamond or a king on the river to stay alive but it wasn’t to be as the Q♣ landed to end his tournament in 6th place. There were smiles all round as Toleafoa took his defeat graciously after coming into the final table on the short stack. He’ll collect NZ$34,400 for his efforts.
4:14pm: Ladies good to Brotha D
Tom Grigg raised to 40,000 before Brotha D made it 100,000 from the big blind. Grigg quietly announced a call.
“Good luck Brotha,” said Grigg.
“Thank you my friend,” replied Brotha D, as the flop landed 3♥ 10♣ 5â™ . Brotha D led out for 100,000 and Grigg quickly called to see the 9♦ hit the turn. Both players checked and again checked the 3♦ river. Brother D opened Q♥ Q♦ and Grigg’s cards hit the muck.
“Argh! Why didn’t you bet Tom?” sighed Brotha D but his chip stack jumped up to 1.28 million with Grigg down to 710,000.
4:01pm: Grigg doesn’t mind the five-bet
Tamas Lendvai opened with a raise to 38,000 from the cutoff before Tom Grigg popped it up to 1000,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Lendvai thought for a few moments before announcing another raise to a total of 208,000. Grigg came back over the top with a five-bet shove for all of his chips to put Lendvai to a make-or-break decision.
With 320,000 behind he decided to let it go, declaring that he folded ace-ten. Grigg flashed A♠Q♥ as he chipped up to 900,000.
3:48pm: Brotha D makes a cool mil
Brotha D raised to 40,000 from the cutoff with Srdjan Mitrovic and Tom Grigg both tank-calling to see a flop of 6♠5♥ 9♣ .
Grigg checked in the dark and Brotha D fired 75,000. Mitrovic made the call as Grigg got out of the way. The K♥ hit the turn and Brotha D checked to Mitrovic who also made it 75,000. Brotha D called and both players checked the K♣ river.
Mitrovic showed 7♥ 6♥ for a pair of sixes that missed both straight and flush draws, as Brotha D tabled A♦ 9♦ for a pair of nines to take it down.
“What are you doing there Srdjan…I call your all in!” exclaimed Brotha D.
“I just wanted to give you some chips!” laughed Mitrovic.
Brotha D is up to a cool one million while Mitrovic slips to just 585,000.
3:35pm: Toleafoa tosses away tens
Ropati Toleafoa raised to 40,000 from under the gun and Tamas Lendvai went into the tank before announcing a raise of another 78,000.
Toleafoa count out 78,000 in chips, considered his options and stared down his opponent. Lendvai wasn’t giving away anything with his reflective shades on as Toleafoa toyed with his chips and his cards before eventually folding a fold, of what he claimed was pocket tens.
“You should’ve shoved!” commented Brotha D.
There’s certainly been a lot of showing and discussing cards on this final table as the players look to keep things friendly, and Lendvai continued that trend as replied that he held ace-king.
3:28pm: Mitrovic edges in front
Srdjan Mitrovic raised to 40,000 with Ropati Toleafoa making the call in the big blind to see a flop of 5♥ 4♥ 5♣ . Mitrovic’s continuation bet of 50,000 was enough to take it down and edge himself into a narrow chip lead.
This level kicked off with an incorrect ante of 1000, but that has quickly been rectified by Tournament Director Danny McDonagh and the players are now paying 2000 a hand.
3:20pm: Play resumes
The players are back after a quick break with Tom Grigg holding onto a narrow lead despite losing a couple of small pots towards the end of that last level. Brother D and Srdjan Mitrovic are lurking close behind.
