The dinner hour has passed, and with it the last opportunity for entering — or re-entering — the Latin American Poker Tour Peru Main Event.
We await final word on LAPT Peru numbers now, the news of which we’ll pass along as soon as it arrives. The big board’s entry total had crept up toward 230 by dinner time, meaning more than 350 entries overall, but we suspect the ultimate total is a bit higher than that.
In the meantime about 150 players continue to compete on Day 1B, having collectively consumed the stacks of the eliminated.
Earlier Olga Iermolcheva, runner-up at LAPT8 Panama back in May, was unable to follow that path to success after buying in twice today. The Ukrainian’s end came after having committed her short stack with 10♥ 8♥ versus Chilean Rodolfo Awad’s Kâ™ Q♦ then failing to find improvement from the next five cards.
From the Brazilian contigent we’ve lost our freerolling friend, Flavio Cautella, who nonetheless earned himself a fun experience and great story to tell. Also out is Lucas Fauth of Porto Alegre, the highest finishing Brazilian in this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event after his 67th-place showing.
Stay tuned for those numbers, both chip-wise and entry-wise.
